Detailed Biography of Larry Scott

Larry Scott is managing partner of Scott & Cronin LLP, one of the leading Certified Public Accounting firms in San Diego. Mr. Scott graduated from San Diego State University with an undergraduate degree in Business, Math and Economics and studied accounting in the Graduate School of Business. After starting his career with Price Waterhouse in San Diego in both the tax and auditing departments he formed his own practice in 1978. Mr. Scott holds Series 7 & 66 securities licenses in addition to being licensed as a CPA in California.

The primary emphasis of the practice is individual and business taxation. Many of the firm's clients are closely held corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Closely held businesses offer unique tax planning opportunities for the individual and business to provide the maximum benefit and protection to the shareholders and/or partners.

Mr. Scott has worked extensively in real estate transactions and strategies and the use of partnership and LLCs. In addition, Mr. Scott has worked in the area of Offshore and International Tax planning for high wealth individuals. This work has required trips to London, the Isle of Man and Kuwait, with each trip giving a unique perspective on the continuing tax planning process.

Scott & Cronin LLP has a unique subspecialty - Campaign Finance Reporting. Since 1988, Mr. Scott has served as treasurer to numerous campaign committees including the former Governor of California, several U. S. Senators, Congressmen, Assemblymen, the former Mayor of San Diego and the current Sheriff. Most recently, Mr. Scott serves as treasurer of Prop. 49 sponsored by Arnold Schwarzenegger. The firm continues to work on behalf of local politicians, political action committees and ballot measures.

A golfer, runner and motorcyclist, Mr. Scott is treasurer and a founding member of the After School All-Stars. ASAS is part of a national organization that works with at risk kids to provide positive alternatives to drug usage and gang involvement. He is on the Board of Trustees of the R.C. Baker Foundation, treasurer of the San Diego based Hog Wild about Kids and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Abilities Center. He also served as treasurer of the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness. In addition, he is an active fundraiser for Challenged Athletes Foundation and participates in their annual fundraising event, San Diego Triathlon Challenge.

Mr. Scott is happily married to Tammy Scott and has a son (Brian), daughter (Shelley), stepson (Jake) and three cocker spaniels (Toby, Jiggs & Bode). He is the proud grandfather of twin girls, Sophia and Gabriela Scott.
